Recruitment is a lot, lot more than just sourcing, shortlisting and arranging interviews; it is quite vast and hectic task in itself. It’s a long journey which starts from the day of searching for the right talent on various portals and internet platforms, to the daythe selected newly hired person successfully complete their probation period with their new employer.

Phases of Journey :

The whole recruitment process can be broken down into the following phases/chapters that recruiters perform extensively and have to pay attention to every detail.

  • Attracting Talent/Pre-Interview Phase: This is a one-way process. This phase start from searching, sorting, sourcing and screening of the talent as per the Job Description and requirement of organization. It itself is a quite time-consuming process which involves understanding requirements and searching talent accordingly by using different sourcing tools and skills.
  • Interview Phase: This is a two-way process as opposed to the one-way process above. This involves shortlisting and scheduling of interviews. Communication and coordination skills are a key to success during this phase. A Talent Acquisition Manager will schedule the interview as per availability of shortlisted candidate and interviewer. It may be telephonic or face-to-face interview. This phase varies as per profiles and talent requirement.
  • Post-Interview and Association Phase: Starting from the selection and joining of the right talent in the organization, negotiation and persuasion skills play decisive role during this phase, which involve communicating the employer offer to the selected candidate. Thisis a very crucial phase of the overall recruitment process. This is the phase where both the parties -the employer as well as the candidate -anticipate a win-win situation for themselves.
  • Follow-up Phase: After joining of the candidate, follow-up is the key which unlocks barriers, if any, which may arise after joining of the candidate and if they face any difficulty adapting to the new work atmosphere and work culture. Recruitment is a complete journey till the completion of probation and pursue further and becoming an asset of recruited candidate in organization.
